Oiwa Kannon

更新日:2017年02月27日

064-会津三十三観音第27番札所大岩観音-スポット-0

Oiwa Kannon at Ushibuse-yama Ninno-ji temple (Tendai sect) is the twenty-seventh of Aizu's thirty-three Kannon pilgrimage sites. After continuing on the forest mountain path leading to this temple, all of a sudden one reaches an area open to the sky with a soaring giant boulder. Below this boulder quietly stands the Kannon-do Hall. In recent times this hall collapsed in an avalanche, and was rebuilt with corrugated metal. While residents of the Oiwa Village have relocated and the area is now uninhabited, they still take care of this temple.
