Miyagawa River's Thousand Cherry Blossom Trees

更新日:2017年02月27日

041-宮川千本桜-スポット-0

This is one of Aizu's famous cherry blossom tree spots along the Miyagawa River, featuring Yoshino Cherry Blossom trees. In the past one thousand trees were planted along the banks of the Miyagawa River to prevent flooding. Around five hundred of them remain with us today, and each spring they form a beautiful tunnel of cherry blossoms. The sight of these blooming blossoms against the backdrop of a still-snowy Mt. Bandai is a must-see. Many people come to enjoy the view.

There is a park along the river, where visitors stop to take a rest. How about enjoying a bento lunch along the river while gazing up at these beautiful blossoms?

The best time to view them is from the middle to the end of April.
